Movegreen’s Story

Our journey began in 2007, when Movegreen’s founder, Erik S. Haney, transformed a challenging situation into a remarkable success story. Despite being a 20-year-old student with $500 to his name and no prior experience, Erik’s determined spirit and impressive entrepreneurial mindset birthed a California moving company like no other.

After confiding in a close friend about his recent financial hardships, Erik took his friend's advice, invested in a moving dolly, and started offering student moving services in the Santa Barbara area. By the end of the day, he had secured his first job! This bold move led to the establishment of Haney Moving and, eventually, Movegreen.

Today, Movegreen is a force to be reckoned with, operating 20 trucks, four locations, and extensive storage facilities across Southern California. Our unwavering commitment to eco-conscious practices truly sets us apart, as we integrate sustainable methods in all our operations. Our vision is to provide efficient, reliable, and eco-conscious moving solutions to anyone seeking a seamless, enjoyable relocation experience.

CA PUCT-190455: A license granted by the California Public Utilities Commission certifying that Movegreen complies with CPUC regulations and operates within industry standards and legal guidelines.
CA 363116: Motor Carrier Permit number issued by the state of California, required for companies that transport goods for payment.
MC 648608: Issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, this number authorizes companies to provide moving services across state lines.

Movegreen is fully licensed and insured, offering comprehensive protection for your belongings. We maintain cargo, public liability, property damage, and workers' compensation insurance through EMC Insurance. Additionally, the company is recognized as a Certified Moving Consultant and holds the PROMOVER certification.

Training for our team members does not stop upon employment. We continuously invest in our movers and customer service associates so they can perform their duties at the highest standard possible. Our newer team members are led by crew leaders, who typically have more than ten years of moving industry experience. Our hiring process is extensive, and we ensure only expert movers handle your goods; we hire individuals with backgrounds in the hospitality and service industry so you can experience top-notch care.
